In order to implement the Memorandum of Understanding for the translation and publication of 100 volumes of books the first meeting of the scientific committees of Iran and China was held with participation of committee members of the two countries.

Hawzah News Agency –In order to implement the Memorandum of Understanding for the translation and publication of 100 volumes of the magnificent classical and contemporary books of Iran and China, with the cooperation of Iran's cultural Attaché in China the first meeting of the scientific committees of Iran and China was held with participation of committee members of the two countries.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Communication (ICRO), the subject of the meeting was familiarization of the members of the committees of the two countries with each other, agreement on the titles of the books of the two countries selected for translation and publication in the first year of implementation of the memorandum and stating the progress of the work by the parties

The meeting was attended by Ali Akbar Ziaei, Deputy Head of Scientific and Cultural Cooperation Development and Chairman of the Iranian Scientific Committee of the Memorandum of Understanding, Mohammad Rasool Almasiyeh, Head of the Center for Translation and Publication of Islamic Education and Humanities, Gholamreza Amirkhani ,the deputy head of the National Library and Achieve of Iran, Bazrafshan, director of the Center for Chinese Studies at the University of Tehran and the Confucius Institute, Abbas Ali Vafaei, Iran's Cultural Attaché in Beijing , and Ms. Nouri, deputy director of the Translation and Publishing Center of ICRO. The event was broadcast online.

Ziaei, spoke about the importance of translating and publishing the famous classic and contemporary books of the two countries saying that translation and publication of one hundred volumes of the classic and contemporary magnificent books of Iran and China will lead awareness about potentials and capabilities of the two countries in different fields and to the mutual acquaintance as much as possible.

He continued: "Considering the wonders of the Silk Road from China to Iran and cultural exchanges between the two countries, we should try to promote literary works in this regard, and on the other hand we are interested in translating valuable works of Chinese travelogues into Persian." Get people acquainted with it.

Ziaie said, we are interested in translating valuable works of the Chinese cultural community in the field of mysticism and spirituality, as well as the philosophy of medicine and medicine into Persian."

He expressed his hope that with the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on the translation and publication of one hundred volumes of classical and contemporary books of Iran and China, we will see the expansion of cultural relations between the two countries.

Almasiyeh, head of the Center for Translation and Publication of Islamic Education and Humanities, spoke about the selection process of books, topics, translation and preparation, and said we hope that by translating and publishing these works, more spiritual and cultural products will be provided for readers and people of both countries.

Yan Xiao Hong, vice president of the Culture and Historical Studies Committee of the China People’s Political Consultative Conference, as chairman of the Chinese Scientific Committee for the implementation of the MoU, also spoke about the importance of the MoU and outlined the steps taken in China to implement it.

Amirkhani, the deputy head of the National Documents and Library Organization, also presented a report on cultural and artistic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of exhibitions, and considered the translation and publication of classical and contemporary works as important and valuable undertaking.

The members of the Iranian and Chinese committees reviewed the activities carried out and the proposed books, and agreed on the titles of five books for translation and publication in the first year of implementation of the Memorandum (out of the ten books previously introduced).

On behalf of China, Li Ping, Shang Wu Publishing Director, Yu Hong Yang, former Chinese Ambassador to Iran, and Ms. Jang Jie, Professor of Library Science at the National Library of China; took note of the provisions of the memorandum.

The memorandum was signed in April this year between the National Publishing Office of the People’s Republic of China and ICRO. Under the MoU, Iran and China have agreed to translate and publish five books from each country during the next coming 10 years.
